Two and half months before the Pontlevoy 2023 Rugby Heritage Cup, two Irish schools will be present, Ballyclare from Belfast for Northern Ireland and St Michael from Dublin for the Republic of Ireland. They will defend the shamrock and the colours of the Irish flag on the Pontlevoy grounds.
The Dublin College will undoubtedly be an extraordinary guest as it has grown many professional players for the Irish team.
James Ryan, Ross Byrne, Ronan Kelleher and Ryan Baird are all Grand Slam winners with the Shamrock XV a few months ago. What they have in common is that they all studied at St Michael’s School a few years ago.
The fight promises to be intense between schools around the world!
